Consultancy
Consultancy and business advice is being given to a new national church staff team as they begin work.
The specialist staff in a group of Anglican dioceses have used our facilitation in order to work together in more effective ways.
Consultancy has been given to the staff members in a number of team and parish situations to explore interpersonal tensions and suggest ways in which conflict could be resolved.
Consultancy has been given to a ‘Collaborative Cluster’ of clergy and parishes considering moving to establish a Team Ministry.
Individuals use Live Wires Associates to explore their vocation and ministry at different stages in their life and work.
Christian lay people use Live Wires Associates to explore the next stages in their own ministries and the possibilities of what they can offer to the local, regional or national church.
Training
Associates have run training programmes to develop leadership in local, regional, national and international church situations.
A training programme in leadership has been delivered for the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon in the Church in Wales. A clergy day has been delivered with the new bishop as he begins his work.
Training programmes and seminars have been organised for clergy in the Lutheran Church of Sweden. Consultancy and advice is given to a number of senior ministers.
Collaborative networks are being developed with leadership research and training organizations across Northern Europe
Capacity building training has been delivered with Caleb Training in West Yorkshire.
Stewards have been trained in how to guide and develop interpretation materials for a major English Parish Church.
LW Associates worked with Electroville social enterprise trainers and the director of the Yorkshire and the Humber Faiths Forum to offer I.T. training for those from a range of faith backgrounds. The local cyber café was used to practice and develop skills. Networking, contacting young adults, creating ‘Blogs’ and websites were each explored. ‘Silver Surfers’ brought a refreshing possibility to those of a certain age!
Developing Multi-Faith Networks
Associates have delivered a project for the York and North Yorkshire Sub-Regional VCS Infrastructure Partnership to explore and develop Multi-Faith Networks. ‘Hearings’ were held in Skipton (Bolton Abbey), York, Thirsk (Auction Mart) and Malton (Eden Camp) to listen to the stories of voluntary sector and faith groups who work with those from many faith backgrounds who come to live and work in the Region.
Time Management
A one day event on Time Management was organised for junior clergy in an Anglican Diocese. Recently ordained clergy were able to explore patterns for organizing a day and a week in response to newly experiences pressures and expectations. The work prepared them for next move to working as the lead individual with a team of volunteers.
An in-service training day for Methodist Circuit Ministers was structured to look at the management of diaries, the way to respond to telephone calls and emails and an examination of theological and practical attitudes to the use and stewardship of time provoked a lively discussion.
Printing and publications
For the Culture Task Group of the Churches Regional Commission for Yorkshire and the Humber Associates took on the revision and publication of tourism and visitor brochures for the North York Moors, York & Selby and Herriot Country. To discover more visit www.yorkshirechurches.com
Further work has been done for the Yorkshire and the Humber Faiths Forum.
Conference and event organizing
Associates are experienced conference organizers. Regional and national conferences have been organised as have a series of book launches.
